Pitch Video Instructions

To compete for a spot in the finals of the inaugural Pitch to the Pack event for textile entrepreneurs, sponsored by Wells Fargo, participants are required to submit a 3-minute pitch video. The video should present the business idea and coverer key elements (see judging rubric) that will convince the expert judges in entrepreneurship and textile business development.

Recommendations on how to create an effective 3-minute pitch video:

1.    Introduction (15 seconds)

Hook the audience: Start with a brief, engaging statement that grabs attention. You could use a shocking statistic, a thought-provoking question or a relatable story.

  • Example: “Did you know that over 40% of small businesses fail within their first year due to inefficiencies that could have been avoided? What if there was a simple solution to change that?”

Introduce yourself: After the hook, introduce yourself and your company.

2.    Problem/Opportunity Identification (20 seconds)

Define the problem or opportunity and provide supporting evidence.

3.    Solution/Approach and Value Proposition (40 seconds)

Present your innovative solution, value proposition and business model.

4.    Market Analysis (25 seconds)

Analyze your target market, its size, segments, growth potential and competitors.

5.    Go-to-Market Strategy (25 seconds)

Describe how you’ll bring the product to market, focusing on distribution channels and marketing tactics.

6.    Financial Projections (25 seconds)

Present realistic financial projections and key assumptions.

7.    Individual/Team Execution (15 seconds)

Briefly mention the team’s skills and your ability to execute the plan.

8.    Powerful Closing (15 seconds)

Summarize your solution and its impact: Recap your value proposition in a compelling way. Highlight the problem you are solving and the potential impact of your solution.

  • Example: “With [Your Product], we’re not just helping businesses avoid failure — we’re empowering them to thrive and grow sustainably.”
